Addressing a rally organised by president of the Moga unit of the party Darshan Singh Brar, who was a close confident of Punjab Congress chief Partap Singh Bajwa, at Baghapurana on Wednesday, Amarinder said he would close down Orbit and Dabwali transport companies owned by chief minister Parkash Singh Badal’s family to end their monopoly and create job avenues and business opportunities for the unemployed youths of the state. Amarinder also promised to punish drug peddlers and corrupt officials saying they were the worst enemies of Punjab.

Spelling out the agenda of the next government, he said: “Besides formulating policies that will usher in progress in Punjab, I will also ensure that those responsible for pushing Punjab to the devastating path of drug addiction are dealt with firmly and shown no mercy. I can forgive anyone, but will never forgive those who pushed Punjab into drug addiction and looted its resources,” he said.
