The political slugfest over Punjab’s drug abuse problem turned fiercely personality-oriented online on Monday, with the top two Twitter ‘trends’ in India being cross-allegations against Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) minister Bikram Singh Majithia and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Bhagwant Mann.

While the top trend at 6.30pm, with over 11,000 tweets and counting, was #DrugSupplierMajithia, the second spot was taken by the trend #BhagwantMannDrugAddict, though the two trends were exchanging spots rather quickly.
By 11pm, #DrugSupplierMajithia had stopped trending while twitteratis kept tweeting under the hashtag #BhagwantMannDrugAddict.
