To be produced by Gautham Menon’s Ondraaga Entertainment, this yet-untitled Tamil remake will be helmed by Senthil Veerasamy, who bankrolled the acclaimed heist-thriller Rajathandiram. While Tamannah Bhatia has been roped in to play the leading lady, the team has still not finalized the male lead.

Initially, the makers approached Nivin Pauly to reprise the role played by Vijay Devarakonda in the original, but the talks fell through. Later, actor Vaibhav Reddy was in talks for the role and the team even conducted a screen test few months back. “Since Tamannaah has come on board, the expectations have mounted. So, the team has dropped the idea of casting Vaibhav as the lead,” informs a source to HT.

Recently, the team initiated talks with Udhayanidhi Stalin and he too has rejected the offer. Vishnu Vishal , who has lined up multiple films in the pipeline with directors Chella, Muruganandham and Mundasupatti fame Ram Kumar, is yet to give his final nod to the project, which is likely to kick off in the second half of 2017.
