Amala Paul will star opposite Prithviraj in Blessy’s Aadujeevitham.

Last seen playing a pivotal role in Malayalam comedy Achayans, Amala is thrilled to have bagged a plum role in Prithviraj’s highly anticipated Aadujeevitham. On signing the project, Amala took to Twitter to share the news. “Happy and honoured to be part of Blessy’s Aadujeevitham as Sainu, which is set to be a visual spectacle in 3D along with Prithviraj, legend AR Rahman, Resul Pookutty and KU Mohanan. This gathering of master is going to make waves in world cinema.”

According to director Blessy, it’s going to be the most challenging role in Amala’s career. Talking to Times of India, he also said that Malayalam filmdom is yet to fully realize Amala’s potential. The project marks Rahman’s return to Mollywood after 25 years. Last month, while speaking in Dubai at a press meet ahead of his concert to commemorate his journey of 25 years in the music industry, Rahman said he is thrilled to have signed a Malayalam film. “I’m working with director Blessy for Aadujeevitham; it’s a beautiful love story.” Rahman’s last Malayalam outing was Sangeeth Sivan directed 1992 film Yoddha, which was his second film as a composer.

The film will be based on the 2008 popular Malayalam novel Goat Days - about an abused migrant worker in Saudi Arabia. The project will roll from March 1 and will be predominantly shot in Kerala, Rajasthan, Oman and Jordan. Prithviraj is said to have set aside 18 months for this project.
