Dhanush plans Malayalam debut as a producer with Dominic Arun’s next

“It’s going to be a black comedy with Tovino and Neha Iyer, a Mumbai-based girl, in the lead. The regular shooting commence from today,” a source close to Dhanush said, adding that the actor won’t be playing a cameo in the film contrary to some reports. The source also said that Dhanush keenly follows films that come out of Mollywood and it has been on his mind for long to collaborate with the Malayalam filmdom.

Dhanush is all set to make inroads into Malayalam industry, not as an actor, but as a producer. Known for bankrolling projects such as Visaaranai and Kaaka Muttai, it has been learnt from reliable sources that he wants to back good content in Malayalam as well. Apparently, his maiden Malayalam production will be helmed by Dominic Arun, who had earlier made Mrithyumjayam, and it will star Tovino Thomas, who is currently the toast of the town.

The source also said that Dhanush keenly follows films that come out of Mollywood and he has been planning on venturing into the industry for long.

Meanwhile, Dhanush awaits the release of his maiden Tamil directorial Power Paandi, which is slated to hit the screens on April 14. He is busy shooting for VIP 2, which is being directed by his sister-in-law Soundarya Rajinikanth.
