Following Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, Rajinikanth’s 2.o to release in IMAX

After Baahubali 2 going the IMAX way, Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer 2.o, directed by ace director Shankar, too will release in IMAX.

Following Baahubali 2, another South Indian magnum opus 2. o will be releasing in IMAX format. “Baahubali 2 wasn’t shot in the IMAX format, they are just upscaling the normal version whereas 2. o has been shot in such a way that they’re planning to release in IMAX,” said a source close to team 2. o.

While several IMAX screens are available in North India, 2. o’s producers are in talks with leading theatre owners in South India to install advanced projections and sound system.

“Apart from the superior visual quality, 2. o will also set a new milestone in terms of the sound system. Resul Pookkutty is working on a new format, it will be a huge surprise for moviegoers,” added our source.

Rajinikanth 2.o is expected to be a Diwali release.

The film’s director Shankar has nearly completed 90% of the shoot but the post-production works are simultaneously progressing under the supervision of a dedicated team. Produced by Lyca, Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar playing the lead roles in 2. o, the film also has Amy Jackson in an important role.

2.o is slated to release for Diwali 2017.
