Mani Ratnam’s film has a host of big stars including Arvind Swamy and Vijay Sethupathi.

Filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s upcoming multi-starrer, which features an ensemble cast of Arvind Swami, Simbu, Vijay Sethupathi, Arun Vijay, Aditi Rao Hydari, Jyothika and Aishwarya Rajesh, has been titled Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, the makers officially announced on Friday along with the film’s first look poster. Originally, Fahadh Faasil was roped in to play one of the leads. However, he recently opted out of the project as he was occupied with another project. Apparently, Fahadh’s dates with another project seem to clash with Ratnam’s project, forcing him to exit.

The project is slated to go on the floors from February 12. It is rumoured that Vijay Sethupathi, Arvind Swami, Simbu and Arun Vijay play brothers and veteran actors Jayasudha and Prakash Raj play their parents. The film, which will be dubbed and released in Telugu, has been titled Nawab.

To be bankrolled by Madras Talkies, double Oscar-winning AR Rahman has been roped in compose the music. Lensman Santosh Sivan has will crank the camera and it’ll be his sixth collaboration with Ratnam. A source close to Ratnam confirmed the film will be an action-thriller and will be a departure from the filmmaker’s usual style of films. Ratnam has pinned high hopes on this project following the debacle of Kaatru Veliyidai, which sank without a trace at the box-office.
