Nivin Pauly’s debut Tamil film, Ritchie, is all set for a release. The film will hit theatres on December 1. Directed by Gautham Ramachandran, it is the remake of the successful Kannada film Ulidavaru Kandathe starring Rakshit Shetty.
This film sees Nivin playing the role of a goon which Prakash Raj plays a church priest. Nivin’s character annoys Prakash with his snarky comments in the teaser.
Nivin was introduced to Tamil cinema through Alphonse Puthren’s Neram, which was a bilingual film. It was successful at the box office and received good reviews as well. Ritchie would be his first Tamil film that would not be a bilingual. Also starring Vikram Vedha actor Shraddha Srinath, the film will portray Nivin in a never before seen avatar.
Nivin rose to when he did Premam, and even before that, he played characters that were not very loud but still managed to be impressive. However, Ritchie will see Nivin play a loud character. The black outfit, the beard, and him chewing paan and spitting it should not be attractive, but it somehow is. The film also stars Natarajan Subramaniam, Ashok Selvan and Lakshmi Priyaa Chandramouli.
The music for the film is composed by B Ajaneesh Loknath. Interestingly, GK Reddy, father of actor Vishal Krishna, will also be seen in a cameo.
Meanwhile, Nivin Pauly has a long list of projects in Malayalam: Hey Jude with Trisha, Love Action Drama with Nayanthara, Kayamkulam Kochunni, the biopic about N Narayana Pillai and more.
