Vikram Vedha is one of the biggest Tamil hits of 2017. The success of the film, which was celebrated by critics and audiences alike, catapulted its director duo Pushkar-Gayatri into a different league. The film recently completed its 100th day run in theatres in Tamil Nadu and it was no ordinary feat. Last week, reports circulated that the husband-wife director couple might team up with Thala Ajith next, even though some reports have confirmed that Ajith is all set to reunite with Vivegam director Siva for the fourth time.

Pushkar, speaking to Hindustan Times, shed light on the matter and said that he’s surprised to hear about these rumours. “We are still in the scripting process of our next project and once ready, we will start approaching actors. I’m not sure from where the rumour about us teaming up with Ajith sir crop up. It isn’t true. But who wouldn’t love to work with him,” he said.

With Vikram Vedha, Pushkar-Gayatri did turn heads and one shouldn’t be surprised if they manage to work with a leading star in their next project. R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi played the main protagonists in Vikram Vedha, and it’s inspired from the popular folklore Vikram Betaal, whose morality riddles are applied to a police-gangster backdrop. Talks have been initiated for the film’s Hindi remake with Shah Rukh Khan. It is rumoured to be remade in Telugu with Rana and Venkatesh, who have been yearning to work together for a long time.
