Selfie-enthusiast guys, it is time to give your social networking profiles a makeover. That is, if you want to make some headway with the fairer sex. Or so a recent survey says.

Selfie-enthusiast guys, it is time to give your social networking profiles a makeover. That is, if you want to make some headway with the fairer sex. Or so a recent survey says.

According to a study by the matrimonial portal, Shaadi.com, women are put off by men who post selfies, self-portrait photographs, on social networking sites.

The survey was conducted to understand what Indian women dislike about men.

When women were asked about that one thing they dislike the most about men, 23.1% of the respondents said that they dislike ‘men who post selfies on Facebook’. Seemingly, clicking ‘#foodporn’ pictures for Instagram is also a turn-off for women, as 27.13% voted that they dislike ‘men obsessed with clicking food pictures’.

The poll was conducted online with over 6,500 urban youngsters across India.

And that is not the end of women’s grouse against the interweb. According to the study, 60.60% of women said that they dislike ‘men who are constantly tweeting or messaging on WhatsApp during a meal’.

Un-gentlemanly behaviour also topped the list of turn-offs. As many as 80.70% of women said ‘rude behavior with the waiter at a restaurant’ was a big no.

"The results reaffirm our belief that the modern Indian woman knows exactly what she wants," said Gourav Rakshit, from the wedding portal.
