Franklin D. Roosevelt, the 32nd American president, had once famously said: “Human kindness has never weakened the stamina or softened the fiber of a free people. A nation does not have to be cruel to be tough.”

In the current times of growing terror, intolerance, distrust and self-love, the importance of being kind can never be sufficiently glorified. As the world celebrates another Kindness Day today (November 13), it is a good chance for us to sit back and think about the last time we were kind to someone without a reason or agenda.
