MUMBAI: Cedric Fernandes scored the match-winning goal for Steadfast Sports Academy’s narrow 1-0 win over Rhino SC in the Mumbai District Football Association’s First Division league at the St Xavier’s ground, Parel, on Sunday.

MARIYA, AVINASH TOP

Mariya Karachiwala sprinted to victory in the girls’ under-18 100m race at the First Sunday Mornings Athletics Meet, organised by the Mumbai University in association with India Masters Athletics at the University Stadium, Marine Lines. Mariya breasted the tape in 13.8 seconds.

In the men’s 100m sprint, Avinash Dubey won in 11.4 seconds. In the boys’ under-18 200m run, Darshan Bandal won gold in 25.3 seconds.

Men’s shot put: Rahul Krishna 13.27m; Boys’ U-18 shot put: Mandar Kamdekar 12.10m; U-16 1500m: Vaibhav Shah 5:08.9s; Women’s 1500m: Aditi Patil 5:23.8s; Discus throw: Krithika Krishnakumar 27.22m; Girls U-16 discus throw: Tanishta Dineshkumar 22.19m.
