Guardiola hopeful of De Bruyne’s return from injury in three weeks
LONDON: Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has said Kevin de Bruyne’s hamstring problem is “not a big injury” and believes the midfielder could return to action in around three weeks.

De Bruyne limped off in the 3-1 Premier League win at Swansea City on Saturday but could be back for the Champions League Group C clash with Barcelona at the Nou Camp on Oct. 19.
“Kevin is not a big injury... in two and a half or three weeks, maybe he will be ready,” said Guardiola, who also expects centre back Vincent Kompany to return shortly after next month’s international break.
STERLING SHINING UNDER PEP: RODGERS
LONDON: Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling is on course to become one of the world’s best players under the guidance of manager Pep Guardiola after the youngster seemed to lose his way last season, Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has said.
“Raheem is back on track to be one of the world’s top players. He is already one of the world’s top young players but (can be) one of the world’s leading players,” Rodgers, who managed Sterling for three seasons at Liverpool, told British media.

SUNDERLAND’S JANUZAJ OUT FOR SIX WEEKS
MANCHESTER: Sunderland winger Adnan Januzaj has been ruled out for at least six weeks after sustaining an ankle injury in Saturday’s Premier League defeat by Crystal Palace.
Januzaj joined Sunderland on a season-long loan from Manchester United in August after an unhappy last season where he failed to start a league game during his loan spell at Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund.
