MUMBAI: Striker Navin Koli scored the solitary goal as KSP Hydro overcame Indigo Sports Club 1-0 in the second division match of the MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) League 2015-2016 at Parel on Wednesday.

In another match of the same division, Sagar Sports Club romped to a comfortable 3-0 win against Larsen & Toubro SC. Sagar scored the opening goal through Yogesh Meher in the 26th minute to go into the break with a slender 1-0 lead. After changing ends, Sagar scored two more goals in the second period through Roshan Jadhav and Hemant Shaikh in the 36th and 45th minutes respectively.

RESULTS

Second division: KSP Hydro 1 (Navin Koli) beat Indigo SC 0; Sagar SC 3 (Yogesh Meher, Roshan Jadhav, Hemant Shaikh) beat Larsen & Toubro SC 0.

MUDIT, SOHAM IN MAIN DRAW

Mudit Dani and Soham Rane of Mumbai City District registered contrasting wins to advance to the men’s main draw in the JVPG 3rd Maharashtra State Ranking Table Tennis tournament.

While Dani overcame Nashik’s Archit Bhadkamkar in straight games, Rane endured a strong challenge from veteran Yogesh Desai before snatching a hard-fought 4-11, 13-11, 9-11, 11-6, 11-5 win.

Mustafa Manager had to overcome a stiff resistance from Dinkar Shelarka of Mumbai Suburban as well, but went on to win 11-5, 3-11, 11-9, 9-11, 11-9.
