WUHAN: Czech Petra Kvitova romped to a 6-1, 6-2 victory over world number five Simona Halep in the Wuhan Open semi-finals on Friday to move a step closer to winning the tournament for the second time.

Kvitova will meet Dominika Cibulkova in the final on Saturday after the Slovak beat Svetlana Kuznetsova 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.

WINNING SLAMS NO LONGER PRIORITY: DJOKO

BELGRADE: Novak Djokovic no longer sees winning Grand Slam titles or staying top of the men’s ATP rankings as a priority in his tennis career, Serbia’s world No 1 said.

“I don’t want to think about winning titles and being the No 1 any more in order to avoid putting pressure on myself,” Djokovic told reporters.

“I put too much pressure on myself after winning this year’s Roland Garros and I didn’t like it.”
