Bob Houghton faces a three-member committee of the All India Football Federation (AIFF) on April 11 but his future as India coach may not hinge on replies to the showcause notice served on him on Saturday. A source in the AIFF said if Houghton doesn't accept terms of compensation offered by the federation - possibly a maximum of six months' salary - he could be taken to court on the charge of making a racial comment.

FIFA though takes strong exception to such stands. Under Houghton, India qualified for the 2012 AFC Challenge Cup on Friday.
