Iniesta to miss club world cup final

Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta will be out for around 15 days and will miss Saturday's Club World Cup final against Estudiantes after damaging a thigh muscle in Wednesday's 3-1 win over Atlante.

Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta will be out for around 15 days and will miss Saturday's Club World Cup final against Estudiantes after damaging a thigh muscle in Wednesday's 3-1 win over Atlante.

The Spain international was replaced by Bojan Krkic in the 75th minute of the semi-final against the Mexican CONCACAF champions and tests on Thursday showed he had injured his left thigh, Barca said.

Iniesta, one of five players on the short list for the FIFA World Player of the Year award, could return for the Spanish champions in their La Liga match against Villarreal on Jan. 2.
