Mahindra, who managed only nine points from 10 games, scored in the first half through Mohammed Rafi in the 39th minute. The hosts struck twice in the second session in the space of six minutes after Dempo had equalised through Roberto Mendes in the 49th minute.
Edeh Chidi and Pierre Douhou scored the last two goals for Mahindra, in the 78th and 84th minutes.
Mumbai FC upbeat
Mumbai FC’s English coach David Booth is hopeful of a good result when his team takes on Mohammedan Sporting in a rescheduled 11th round match at the Cooperage on Tuesday. The match was originally scheduled for November 30, but was postponed because of the terror attacks in Mumbai. Just before the terrorists hit the city, Mumbai FC had rallied to defeat JCT 3-2.
