San Francisco 49ers CEO Jed York was arrested on Sunday after he allegedly tried to pay a woman a little over a hundred dollars for sex, as per the New York Post.

Jed York is an American business executive with a net worth of $500 million, as per Celebrity Net Worth. He is best known as the CEO of the San Francisco 49ers. His family has owned the team since 1977, having bought the franchise for $17 million.

York became team president in 2008 and CEO of the team organization in 2012.Under his leadership, the 49ers moved on from a rock-bottom period of poor performance and public feuds between the coach and the GM. Observers generally agree the team had one of the worst-constructed rosters in the league when York took over. Since then, the 49ers have won the NFC division championship in 2011, 2012, 2019, 2022, and 2023.

Jed York started his career as a financial analyst at Guggenheim Partners in New York, before leaving to join the 49ers as director of strategic planning, a role that soon grew into vice president of strategic planning. By 2008, he became president of the 49ers.

How the arrest happened

Court documents obtained by The California Post on Monday said York responded to an ad on a prostitution website in Columbiana County, Ohio, and “arranged to have sexual activity with the female in exchange for $140.00.”

York then went to a trailer park in East Palestine, Ohio, where he was taken into custody. An agent from the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force found that York had “in his possession his cellular device which was used to arrange the criminal act,” according to the court documents.

The documents show York was booked into county jail on two charges , one count of engaging in prostitution and one count of possessing criminal tools.

What happened after the arrest

On Monday, York reached a plea deal with prosecutors, according to Columbiana County Municipal Court records. He pleaded no contest to a lesser charge of disorderly conduct and also pleaded no contest to possessing criminal tools.

York was sentenced to one day in jail, but he received credit for time already served. He was also ordered to pay $1,150 in fines. A court filing said his attorney also confirmed that York completed an online course.
