“Joe and I are having a quick little honeymoon of sorts on this trip while Zubin (the couple’s one and a half year old son) gets some time with his Dadu and Ammamma. We never had one when we got married as we were shooting AK and making my album Traveller, so this is very special time for us,” says the 31-year-old daughter of legendary musician Ravi Shankar.

The couple attended the London premiere of the film on Tuesday evening and will attend the screening at the Toronto Film Festival tonight. Shankar hopes to catch some other screenings too while at the festival.

“I am especially looking forward to Deepa Mehta’s Midnight’s Children and The Reluctant Fundamentalist. Deepa (Mehta) had asked me to play a small role in Midnight’s Children but I had to back out when I became pregnant,” she says. Shankar, who wore a ghagra-kurti at the London premiere, says “it’s possible” that she will wear creations by Indian designers at the other premieres in New York and LA too.
