India crosses 1.5 million recoveries: Health data

With record single-day recoveries of 54,859 on Sunday (according to the ministry’s database), the national recovery rate among Covid-19 patients has now touched almost 70%.

Oral cancer screening suspended due to Covid-19 risk

Dental clinics in the containment zones have also been directed to remain closed, as most dental procedures require close contact with the patient’s oral cavity, saliva, blood, and respiratory tract secretions, increasing the risk for dentists of contracting the viral infection.

Two more hospitals may join Covid fight soon; private cabs to act as ambulances

The government on Sunday appointed medical directors for its two hospitals in Dwarka and Ambedkar Nagar. The hospitals together will add over 1,800 beds to the existing 11,770 beds in Delhi government-run hospitals.

CM presents 6,736cr supplementary demand for grants

Chief minister Jai Ram Thakur on Wednesday presented supplementary demand for grants of ₹ 6,736 crores and 56 lakh during the budget session. Of the total, ₹3,950 crore and 88 lakh for non-plan schemes, ₹904 crore and 37 lakh for planned schemes and ₹1,881 crore and 31 lakhs for central-sponsored schemes have been proposed.

Unable to get ambulance, Gurugram woman delivers in auto on way to hospital

According to a family member, Savita, a resident of Naharpur, had labour pains on Wednesday morning, following which her husband called 108 — the health department’s ambulance service. However, no operator answered his calls for almost 30 minutes, the family said.
