Pakistan declares national emergency to battle locusts

Govt takes over Lahore headquarters of Hafiz Saeed-led terror group Jamaat-ud-Dawa: Pakistan

In a statement, the Punjab home department said that it had taken over the headquarters of the JuD and the FIF and that it had taken over the madrassas and facilities of the banned groups, adding that the implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP) was being sped up.

Under the crackdown on banned groups, a total of 121 people detained and nearly 400 facilities operated by the organisations were taken over across the country, till Thursday.(AFP)

Pakistan issues order to seize assets of all banned outfits

The Pakistan government has issued an order to streamline a process for the implementation of sanctions against individuals and entities of all banned outfits as designated by the UN Security Council, the Foreign Office announced.

The UN Security Council (Freezing and Seizure) Order, 2019, has been issued in accordance with the provisions of Pakistan’s UN Security Council (UNSC) Act, 1948(Reuters)

New plan aims to eliminate hepatitis from India by 2030

As part of the National Viral Hepatitis Control Programme, the government is providing free drugs at all government hospitals for those suffering from hepatitis B and C. People receiving treatment for HIV/AIDS will be especially screened and, if found positive, put on treatment.

In India, it is estimated that there are 4 crore people suffering from Hepatitis B and 0.6-1.2 crore people suffering from Hepatitis C.(HT File / Photo used for representational purpose)
