As shown in the rendition from a promotional video by Lappset, which designs the playgrounds, the parks feature slides, rides, arcade games and more featuring the Angry Birds theme, "combining digital and physical worlds together."
In 2011, Angry Birds was downloaded one half a billion times. An animated movie is in the works, a television show, and last year the company sold 25 million plush toys.
Angry Birds Lands will open within existing theme parks at first, but the ultimate goal is more ambitious than Disney's parks. "It's about making Angry Birds available everywhere," Rovio CMO Peter Vesterbacka told SFGate.com.
