Niharika Agarwal, who works as a Technical Program Manager at Google’s Bengaluru office, shared a video on Instagram offering glimpses of her workplace. The clip featured shots from the Google office, accompanied by the text: “I worked hard to get everything I want”.

‘They only see the result’

In the caption accompanying the video, Agarwal reflected on how success is sometimes attributed to luck even though the journey behind it can involve long working hours, difficult days and moments of self-doubt.

“They call it luck because they only see the result. They don’t see the long workdays, the tired evenings, the moments you wanted to quit but showed up anyway, or the sacrifices you made quietly because nobody was watching. They see the life you have now and say, “She’s so lucky.” And maybe I am. Lucky to have people who believe in me. Lucky to have the strength to keep going. If you’re building your life from the ground up too, this one’s for you,” she wrote.

Her post sought to highlight the less visible side of professional achievements, particularly the consistency and perseverance that often go unnoticed once a person reaches a milestone. The video also appeared to resonate with people who said they had witnessed Agarwal’s journey before she reached her current position at Google.

A third user said, “You earned every bit of this through your hard work, dedication, and perseverance. Never luck, always you. So incredibly proud of you.”

Another simply added, “Absolutely deserved it.”
