FazeRug car crash caused death? Fact-checking claim as Brawadis' video goes viral
An emotional clip of YouTuber Brawadis is once again being falsely linked to claims that his brother, FaZe Rug, died in a car crash.
Social media users are once again circulating false claims that YouTuber Faze Rug died in a fatal car crash in Los Angeles, using an emotional crying video of his brother, Brawadis. However, there is no credible evidence or official confirmation that FaZe Rug was involved in any crash.
The viral clip of Brawadis predates the latest posts from the YouTuber.
What does the video show?
The latest misinformation emerged after an X user, @duckedtfoffff, reposted the video with the caption claiming Brawadis “broke down during a live after his younger brother, FaZe Rug, was involved in a fatal car accident in Los Angeles.”
The post also falsely quoted Brawadis as saying, “I didn't find out until this morning that he was gone.”
No evidence supports those claims. No credible news media has reported about a fatal crash in Los Angeles.
What is the real reason behind Brawardis' viral video?
The emotional video from Brawardis has nothing to do with a car crash. The video originally showed Brawardis crying and talking about his meeting with a Goldendoodle, the same breed as his late dog, Booker.
The encounter reminded him of Booker, who died earlier this year after battling lymphoma. Lymphoma is an aggressive form of cancer. Booker died on April 30, 2026, roughly three months after being diagnosed.
According to Brawadis, chemotherapy and medication failed to stop the disease from spreading. The cancer eventually affected multiple organs and made it difficult for Booker to breathe and eat.
Veterinarians informed Brawardis that there was no cure and that the disease had progressed rapidly. Brawadis ultimately decided to euthanize Booker to end his suffering.
Faze Rug also commented under a tribute post to booker and wrote, “Love you bro. You were the greatest dog dad ever. You did everything together and he cherished it til the very end.”

False claim resurfaces despite previous debunking
This is not the first time the same clip has been misrepresented online. In July 2026, identical rumours posted by the same account falsely claimed Faze Rug had died in a Los Angeles crash after the emotional video went viral.
At the time, HT.com verified that the clip was related solely to Booker's death and that there was no official report or credible news confirming any accident in which Faze Rug was injured or had died.
Despite that fact-check, the video has resurfaced with nearly identical captions and caused fresh confusion among fans. Several social media users appeared to believe the fabricated story. One user commented, “prayers and thoughts to him.”
As of the latest available information, FaZe Rug is alive and well. Faze Rug also posted a video on YouTube, titled “I Pretended to be a Foodie Critic for FREE Food,” one day ago. He also posted an Instagram post on August 1 with several football players, including Son Heung-min, captioned, “Grateful for this life.”
