For the girls hoping to be cheerleaders for Shah Rukh Khan’s Kolkata IPL team, a trip to his house was “a dream come true”. We spoke with some of these girls — who will go head to head on the NDTV Imagine show Knights and Angels — about their visit to Mannat. Here’s what they said.

Sixteen-year-old Delhiite Suhani Sharma was completely in awe of the superstar. “Shah Rukh was very kind to us… the first thing that strikes you about him is how caring and polite he is. He said, ‘I’ll never judge any of you… I’ll just crown you as angels.’”

Rekha Rana, 21, a student of Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, thinks she and SRK have a lot in common. “I live in Gautam Nagar, where he used to live, and I’m learning acting from the teacher who taught him,” said Rekha. “Mein hamesha se chahti thi ki mein unse miloun, baat karoun. He really is the baadshah. He hugged all of us. He’s such a genuine person. We were on cloud nine when he called us pretty.”

Kolkata-based Nikita Agarwal said, “Half the girls almost fainted when Shah Rukh gave them a hug. Afterwards, the girls were going on saying how they wouldn’t ever wash the clothes they were wearing... or even their hands. He’s a really humble guy, and he was as excited as any of us.”
