Game of Thrones: Two girls have found show locations and are blogging them in a unique way
Game of Thrones fans and bloggers Tiia Ohman and Satu Walden are posting pictures from locations where the show was shot.Updated: Aug 15, 2017 13:34 IST
Over seven seasons, Game of Thrones has been filmed in various scenic locations like Ukraine and Spain. Now, two bloggers from Finland have made it their mission to capture those locations in their lens.
Tiia Ohman and Satu Walden post pictures from the locations, fixing up an iPad in the photo that fits the frame exactly. The iPad shows the scene from the series in which the location was used.
The method gives a stunning effect and lets fans really appreciate the scene from the show even more.
Day 13: Game of Thrones, Tollymore Forest Park, Northern Ireland . A fun and tricky one! Finding this Game of Thrones bridge wasn’t easy. We had to use all our location research skills to find the exact location of this one, but finally managed to do so thanks to some amazing photographer who had left the gps coordinates from the camera to a photo they snapped of the bridge – without even knowing it was the Stark family one! What an adventure. We were super happy to discover this spot and take our photos. . *Read more about the location in our blog (link in bio!) . #GameOfThrones #NorthernIreland #filmtourism #movies #travel #FQadventcalendar
The King in the North back when he was just a curly-haired bastard with no claim to anything. Ah, how the times have changed... 👑 + Shot on location in Tollymore Forest Park, #NorthernIreland. + Back in 2015 we still used Satu's old iPad with the thick white edges. These days, we carry around an ASUS ZenPad 3S 10. We're really hoping to visit the remaining #GameOfThrones countries with it to bring our followers more narrow-edged #sceneframing photos of our favorite characters 😍👏🏼
The bloggers have travelled to Northern Ireland and Iceland and chronicled their journeys on Instagram.
In an interview to Mashable, the bloggers revealed their inspiration, “We saw some of those historical ones where people put up photos against today’s cityscapes and possibly even a couple TV show versions done with printed photos. We’re not 100% certain what originally gave us the spark to try it.”
Some sweet #GreatMovieRoadtrip memories from Iceland: this #GameOfThrones location wasn't an easy one to find, but we took the challenge and smashed it! • We can not wait for the show to be back... and maybe, just maybe, we'll get to go back to beautiful #Iceland again some day too! For us, @icelandair's stopover service is pretty perfect as we like to go country hopping from time to time :) #MyStopover #stopover #travel
The two have visited 20 locations so far and will now head to Morocco, Spain, Croatia and Malta.
...but when it's a #Khaleesi sceneframe you're gunning for, you'll do your best to get there! For this shot we left the car behind, but the floods kept getting worse the further we got. So we never reached the actual point where they filmed this - however, that certainly is the same hill in the background! So let's just say it was 50% of a success :) (2/2) . #gameofthrones #northernireland
