Popular television actor Gaurav Chopra is making a comeback to fiction shows with Colors' Uttaran as a rich and suave business tycoon.

Gaurav, who was last seen in Pati Patni Aur Woh with his girlfriend, actress Mouni Roy, will play Raghuvendra Pratap Rathore aka Rocky.

"Rocky’s character is extremely intriguing and I’m glad I got the opportunity to portray this character. I haven’t played this kind of a role before and I couldn’t possibly refuse such an excellent offer when it came along," Gaurav said in a press statement.

The actor is being introduced as a new character, who will be a source of strength for one of the female leads Tapasya, played by Rashmi Desai.

The current track of the show is about how Tapasya is coping up after her misdeeds are revealed by her husband Veer (Nandish Sandhu). She has lost the support of her family, and she is left homeless and emotionally shattered. This is where Rocky's character comes in the picture.

Gaurav has been having a great time working with the Uttaran team.

"Rocky is slated to be a very strong and important character on the show. He will play a huge role in defining the turn the story line will take. The cast of the show is awesome, a great bunch of people to hang out with. We’ve already hit it off pretty well, it’s going to be a party on the sets everyday," he added.

Uttaran airs Monday-Friday on Colors.
