Jyoti Kumari dreams of becoming a TV actor and is open to doing female-fronted shows on the tube. The 20-year-old, who recently got eliminated from Bigg Boss season 11, is hopeful that the controversial reality show would open doors for her in the television industry.
“Bigg Boss is a very popular show and having been part of it, I know more about it now. The experience inside the house has been an interesting one. Now, when I am out, I would love to do TV shows. I enjoyed watching Geet, Madhubala and Kaali. Shows that highlight women empowerment, interests me. I have grown up watching TV and have always dreamt of being a part of it. Bigg Boss had been in a way a stepping stone towards that,” says the Zoology graduate.
However, Jyoti was hopeful that she would be saved this time and her co-contestant Luv Tyagi would get eliminated because of his poor performance. “Not just me, everyone thought that either Luv or Benafsha [Soonawalla] would be eliminated. And that is the reason why I am surprised about my elimination. Nevertheless, I had a wonderful time inside the house and my mother is happy that I could survive so long,” says Jyoti. She further adds that she can see Vikas Gupta, Hina Khan and Shilpa Shinde making it to the top three slots of the show, which is hosted by Salman Khan.
“They have audience support. While Shilpa and Vikas are in constant altercation, Hina knows how to convince people with the way she talks. because of this, they are always in the limelight, had I stayed inside the house I would have un-masked a lot of them. I always say what I believe is right and that has been the reason behind the arguments with a few of them,” says Jyoti, who has developed a good friendship with Vikas, Benafsha and Hiten Tejwani and plans to continue stay in touch with them after the show gets over.
While a part of the show, photos of Jyoti smoking with Arshi Khan and Shilpa went viral. Ask her about it and she replies, “I don’t smoke. We were just trying to fool everyone by faking it. It was a prank.”
