Reality show Life Bina Wife, an Indian adaptation of the Canadian show The Week The Women Went, will replace MasterChef India in Saturday-Sunday 9 pm slot, tentatively in the last week of December or the first week of January. The channel along with BBC Worldwide Entertainment, has started working on the show, which is apparently being shot in Pune and will have a limited 16-episode run.
It’s also learned that Mini Mathur and Cyrus Sahukar will be anchoring the show, which would feature 10 real life couples and celebrities as guests. The relationship-based show toys with the idea of men running the kitchen when the women suddenly go missing.
The Week The Women Went produced by Paperny Films, has had a two season run so far. It was based on a BBC three programme of the same title. It was a part-documentary, part-reality show that explored what transpired when all the women in an ordinary Canadian town disappear for a week and leave the men and children to cope on their own.
The first season was taped in Hardisty, Alberta from June 2 to June 9, 2007, and comprised of eight one-hour episodes.
