My videos are much beyond lipstick and clothes, says ‘Chutki’ Gaurav Gera

Actor Gaurav Gera, who is known for his Chutki-shopkeeper videos, says it’s sad that only his makeup and get-up get all the attention.

His Chutki-shopkeeper videos have gone viral and actor Gaurav Gera says that he wishes people would see they are beyond the make up and the female get up . “These videos are not only about lipstick and clothes. It takes effort to think of a concept and actually get down to making the video. The lipstick and hair get all the attention, but the videos go much beyond that. My friends and family are so proud of the work that I have done,” he says.

Actor Gaurav Gera says that he has been lucky his Chutki-shopkeeper videos have been loved by his fans.

The actor says that he wants to do more work in the digital space. “I want to become a digital giant. I wanted to make space for myself online and I have been lucky that these videos have worked well with the audience. I never wanted to be someone’s clone and I was keen on doing something very different online,” he says.

Actor Manish Paul told us recently that he won’t dress up as a woman on screen to make people laugh. However Gaurav, who has dressed up as a woman for many of his shows such as Mrs. Pammi Pyarelal as well as his last show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, says that he enjoys this. “He (Manish) does what he is good at and I am doing what I do well. He is a fantastic artist and is amazing on stage. This is my speciality. I can’t play a regular husband on a show for the next ten years. That will be the death of my creativity. This is how I convince people, “ he says.
