Ramdev joins Sunil Grover for Mad In India

While there were speculations that former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar would start the innings of Sunil Grover’s new comedy show by being the first guest, now we are told that the cricketer will not be able to make it due to other commitments.

What’s interesting is that now spiritual and yoga guru, Ramdev, has been approached by the makers of the show.

A source says, "Post Sunil’s departure from Kapil Sharma’s show, he has been working hard on his new comedy project. And, to make it different, he will also have some non-film celebrities on the guest list, unlike Kapil. There were talks with cricketers Yuvraj Singh and Sachin to be the guests for the first episode, but due to various reasons, they couldn’t make it. The team has started shooting with Ramdev."

To make a mark and to look different from competitors, the makers and

will focus on celebrities from various fields like sports and music, among others.

"Though the time slot of Kapil’s show and Sunil’s new venture don’t clash, they (the makers) want it to be as different as possible. Sunil will appear in the role of a woman in the show, which resembles his character of Gutthi from Kapil’s show. It will focus on the issues of a common man and will have a satirical take on the daily tensions one goes through," says the source.

The show is hosted by Manish Paul and stars Dolly Ahluwalia, Shweta Tiwari, Khyali and Rehman, among other actors.
