Actor Ridheema Tiwari says that as a public figure, there are times when she yearns for privacy.

Actor Ridheema Tiwari, who has been part of the television industry for the last seven years, says she has learnt to accept the loss of privacy that comes with being a public figure. However, the actor admits that there are times when one feels that fans go too far. “Fans forget the line they need to draw. Most of the times, they mix reel with real. We actors are always surrounded by so many people, so we yearn for privacy. Fans forget that,” she says.

Ridheema, known for shows such as Dill Mill Gayye, Do Dil Ek Jaan and Sasural Genda Phool, says that fan encounters sometimes take an ugly turn. “Fans are inquisitive. They often ask weird questions about our show and if we don’t answer, they abuse us. And even if we share details, they don’t know where to stop. It becomes very awkward,” she adds.

The actor feels that a healthy distance must be maintained between an artist and fans. “Some gap is always good. The more they know, the more they poke. A little distance makes everything glossy and private... It helps them respect you,” she says.
