The trailer begins with Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s ‘god’ Ganesh Gaitonde threatening Saif Ali Khan’s Sartaj Singh. In a sinister voice, he says he will do something evil to the people of Mumbai and that Sartaj only has 25 days to save the city.

Saif plays a police officer who gets suspended over mental health issues. However, he has to convince the police that bigger problems loom while they fuss over his drug abuse.

Radhika Apte’s Anjali Mathur finds a big stash of cash and wonders if it all a part of Gaitonde’s plan. She teams up with Sartaj to get to the bottom of the case. Several shots are fired, people are killed and throats are slit in the gritty trailer.

“I am not going anywhere until the game is over,” Gaitonde’s words echo at the end of the 1.30 minute trailer.

Sacred Games is based on a book by Vikram Chandra of the same name. It has been directed by Anurag Kashyap and Vikarmaditya Motwane and will release on Netflix on July 6.
