Actor Sarvar Ahuja, last seen in Zee TV’s show Punarvivaah playing Prashant, the ex-husband of the lead character Aarti, has been ousted from the show due to breach of contract. Apparently, Sarvar signed up for a role in Life Ok’s Shapath without informing his show’s producers Shashi and Sumeet Mittal.

Reportedly the actor was upset because he was required on the sets of Punarvivaah for only four or five days a month, and wanted a guarantee from the producers that they would use him for at least 15 days. But though the producers informed him that he would be called for extensive shoots, Sarvar went ahead and signed an exclusive contract with Life Ok’s Shapath.

Upset by this, the producers of Punarvivaah terminated his contract. Producer Shashi said, “We wouldn’t object if Sarvar wanted to take on another role. But if an actor, behind our back, signs up for an assignment that keeps him occupied throughout the month, making him unavailable to us, we might as well call it quits!”

On being contacted, Sarvar said, “I have no clue what is happening. I was told I would be needed in two or three months’ time, not immediately.”

The actor had earlier played the title role of Ekta Kapoor’s Keshav Pandit on Zee. He had been ‘discovered’ by the channel on its reality show, Zee Cinestars Ki Khoj.
