Speaking in a new video interview for the show during the auditions in San Francisco this week, Spears said that she likes to treat the acts very delicately.

“I think I’m a fair judge, sometimes it’s hard because I know what they’ve been through,” the Mirror quoted her as saying.

“It’s a subtle and delicate situation when they’re young so you use constructive criticism and be there for them,” she said.

However, the Toxic hitmaker reckons that she’s nothing compared to Simon Cowell.

“I don’t think I’m the toughest judge – Simon would have to be the toughest judge,” she said.

“I’m just looking for someone with spark and spunk and meant to do what they’re doing and it shows,” she added.
