Actor and host of the reality show Splitsvilla Rannvijay Singha, who is gearing up for the Splistvilla 9, has said the new season of the show will teach men how to behave with women and fight for them. “The theme of this new season is Where Women Rule and I and Sunny Leone (co-host) believe that in our country there is a need to talk about these things. To show it through an example, be it through entertainment or anything else. All our 15 celebrity guys had to behave with the girls because of which they saw a change in them,” Rannvijay said.
Splitsville season nine will have 15 boys, as warriors, trying to woo six girls who will be princesses. The theme of the show this time is “where women rule.” The reality show features boys and girls competing in tasks to stay in the competition and mingle with the contestants to find love. In the end, one boy and one girl are crowned the winners of Splitsville, as a couple.
He believes that the audience will feel some changes in themselves as well. “Many people are not aware about how to talk with respect with a woman and how to stand up for them. Splitsvilla is going to teach this in its own way. Along with the fun, there is a sub-conscious message,” he said at the launch of the ninth season of the show.
The show will be co-hosted by actor Sunny Leone and Rannvijay. Sunny has been hosting the show for the past three seasons. Rannvijay-Sunny also hosted the last season and in the season prior to that, Sunny co-hosted it with Nikhil Chinnappa.
Speaking of his co-host, Rannvijay said he is completely in awe of Sunny Leone and added that he finds her journey in the film industry inspirational. “I find her journey very inspirational. From the time she came to India, she was the sweetheart of the country. After that a lot of questions were there that what will she do next. She did a lot of movies then. Last year, I got the chance to not only meet her but to work with her and to know her as a human being. Her interests, her goals in life. She is a very hardworking woman.”
The actor, best known for hosting adventure show Roadies, further said, “She is very grateful. From whatever we talk, during the normal conversations as friends, the only thing which comes out is that she is really grateful for all the opportunities god and the country has given her”
Sunny said shooting the show was a “great journey” and she often uses the opportunity of doing the show as an escape from ups and downs she faces in the film industry. “It was a great journey. It is always fun. For me, there are so many things that went wrong throughout the year, some movies are good some are not, different things that you want to do but they don’t pan out the way you want to. “For one month I escape my own world, go into Splitsvilla and I enter the lives of these contestants,” she said.
The show features young boys and girls competing against the backdrop of love, where they actually fall in love or sometimes have to establish romantic bonds to survive in the game. Does the romance in the show get Sunny emotional? “I get very emotional, I am a very emotional girl,” she said.
The new season goes on air from June 11.
