Title trouble with Sony thriller show

We Are Family director Siddharth Malhotra is producing a daily soap with Sony Entertainment. There are title issues with director wanting a shorter name for the thriller.

We Are Family director Siddharth Malhotra is producing a daily soap. Sony Entertainment wants the title, Tera Mujhse Hai Pehle Ka Naata Koi, but Malhotra, who’s been a TV producer for over a decade, would like something more crisp. “A title like Wo Kaun Thi would work better,” he says. “Tera Mujhse Hai Pehla Ka Naata Koi reminds me of a Shashi Kapoor-Sharmila Tagore song from Aa Gale Lag Jaa. It’s their faces that come to the mind instead of a thriller.”

The show, shot in Manali, is about a damsel-in-distress, with a suspense angle. “It’s about a girl who finds her Mr Right in the wrong person. She eventually discovers that she has a past with him, which has been kept away from her,” informs Malhotra. “You have to work with the channel but given a chance, I’d still prefer a shorter title.”
