When Diljit Dosanjh turned tutor for Lauren Gottlieb
Lauren Gottlieb is a woman on a mission. First, the actor floored everyone with her dance movies in the 2013 film ABCD: Any Body Can Dance and it’s sequel, and now she’s aiming to impress with her fluent Punjabi, as she’s learning the language from none other than actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh.
“Punjabi culture and hospitality has no match. I was so new to the city, yet it was bliss to shoot in Punjab,” said Lauren.
The duo will soon be seen together in a Punjabi film, and Gottlieb will play a Punjabi girl in it. And besides getting the look right, the 27-year-old also worked hard to perfect her accent for the role. “Punjabi culture and hospitality has no match. I was so new to the city, yet it was bliss to shoot in Punjab. I was surrounded by the community and Diljit helped a lot, especially to get my diction right. In fact, I did a dubbing of the movie and everyone was pretty shocked to see that I could lip sync so well,” says Gottlieb.
A source adds, “Lauren confessed that Dilijit was her tutor and taught her specific Punjabi words. She has a few Punjabi friends and although she was familiar with the language, to work on the fluency and pronunciation was a task for Lauren.”
