Chandigarh Mayor Polls: BJP Hands Shock Defeat To I.N.D.I.A. Bloc, AAP Claims ‘Murder Of Democracy’

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) fumed at BJP following the results of the Chandigarh Mayor Polls. BJP handed a shock defeat to AAP-Congress alliance in the polls, which were seen as the first election battle between the BJP and the INDIA bloc. BJP’s Manoj Sonkar won the mayoral polls with a 16-12 majority after 8 votes were declared invalid. AAP claimed that the election results were not just unconstitutional but should also be seen as treason. Both AAP and Congress have decided to approach the High Court against the election results.
