Indian Navy greeted with ‘thanks’ note on Kochi roof

A 'Thanks' note was painted on the roof of a house in Kochi for the Indian Navy for their rescue efforts. The note was found where the Naval ALH piloted by Commander Vijay Varma had rescued two women from flood-hit area on August 17. Around 357 people have died in Kerala floods. Rescue operations by Indian Army, Navy, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and India Coast Guard are underway. Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan said that 90% of the rescue is over, and over 10 lakh people have been moved to relief camps.The chief justice of India Dipak Misra said SC judges will also contribute to Kerala flood relief fund.
