IPL Auction Splurge: Ishan, Chahar most expensive buys, Raina unsold | Day 1

All 10 franchises were involved in back-and-forth bidding wars to capture players on the opening day. A total of 74 players were sold - out of which 20 were overseas - with 3,88,10,00,000 spent. Mumbai Indians shelled out a rollicking amount of 15.2 crore for Ishan Kishan. He became the 2nd most expensive Indian player in history of IPL auction, behind Yuvraj’s 16 crore back in 2014. CSK rallied behind Deepak Chahar, the four-time IPL champions paid a colossal 14 crore. Avesh Khan became the costliest uncapped player of all time with Lucknow Super Giant getting him for 10 crore.
