Antique stamps showcased at Bhopal museum

The philately wing of the State Museum in Bhopal showcases an eye-catching collection of stamps, crests and insignias which date back to the 18th and 19th centuries. These vintage artistic and colourful stamps relate a saga that reflect Indian culture, lifestyle of that era and how they were used in postal and other services. While the stamps were used for communication through postal services, the motifs were the indices of royal couriers.
