Israel is fuming over UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres' remarks on Hamas' assault. Guterres said that the Hamas' October 7 attack on Israel did not happen in a vacuum. In response to the UN Chief's comments, the Israeli Ambassador to the UN demanded Guterres's resignation. Gilad Ergan remarked that Guterres is "not fit to lead the United Nations".
