From Maldives Parliament, PM Modi calls for global summit to counter terror

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Maldives, addressed the Parliament or the 'People's Majlis'. He began by thanking the people's representatives for inviting him to speak before them. He repeated his mantra of 'sabka sath, sabka vikas, sabka vishwas' and said that it applied to India's foreign policy too, while calling Maldives an important part of his government's 'Neighbourhood First' policy. PM Modi then spoke on the threat of terrorism, stating that it didn't pose a threat to just one country or region, but to all humanity. He appealed for the convening of a global conference to discuss terrorism and plug loopholes which allow terror organisations and their state sponsors to operate.
