Hyderabadi woman gets Talaq over WhatsApp from Omani husband

The Union Cabinet today has signed off on an ordinance to make instant triple talaq an offence. Meanwhile, a woman from Hyderabad has alleged that her husband, an Omani National, gave her Triple Talaq over WhatsApp. The woman is seeking External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj's help to get justice. The woman said she got married to the man in May 2017, after which she settled with him in Oman and lived there for a year. The woman said that her husband sent her to Hyderabad in July 2018 and later divorced her over WhatsApp.
