Is ‘BJP option’ over for Shiv Sena? Watch Uddhav Thackeray’s reaction
Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray commented on President’s rule being imposed in the state of Maharashtra. He insisted that discussions between his party and the Indian National Congress and Nationalist Congress Party would go on. Thackeray was also asked about the Sena’s erstwhile partner Bharatiya Janata Party. A reporter asked whether the ‘BJP option’ was over for Sena. Thackeray said that it was the BJP itself which had ended that option. Maharashtra was placed under central rule after the Governor invited multiple parties to stake claim to form the government. While the BJP couldn’t do so due to differences with Shiv Sena, the latter was unable to get adequate letters of support in time. The NCP was subsequently invited, but President’s rule was imposed before talks between the three parties could conclude.
