Missing Cafe Coffee Day owner VG Siddhartha faced personal debt issues

Amid news of the disappearance of Cafe Coffee Day founder-owner VG Siddhartha, it has emerged that he faced personal debt issues. The entrepreneur was in talks to refinance a large portion of his personal debt, which amounts to Rs 2000 crore. The loans had been taken to invest in plantation business owned privately by Siddhartha and his family. It is yet to be established whether there was any link between the debt issues and his disappearance.
