‘Monsoon arrives in Kerala, to be normal this year’: IMD

IMD on Monday announced the onset of southwest monsoon in the country and said it will be normal in India this year. Addressing a press conference to give long-term details about the monsoon season in the country, Dr M Mohapatra, director general of IMD said that Kerala will receive heavy to very heavy rainfall in the next three days due to the southwest monsoon. “Widespread rainfall is predicted in Kerala in three days. More than 80 per cent stations of IMD have recorded more than 2.5 mm rainfall,” Dr Mohapatra added.
