Gadkari meets Advani on B’day amid reports of friction

Amid signs of fragile relationship with BJP senior leader L K Advani, party president Nitin Gadkari today paid a short visit to him on the occasion of his 85th birthday. BJP leader Vijay Jolly, who briefed mediapersons about Gadkari's meeting with Advani, played down reports of the BJP veteran being upset with the party president. Jolly further accused the opposition of unnecessarily commenting on the non-existing differences within the BJP, and said that the environment within the party was very good. Advani's disagreement over Gadkari's continuance as party president was evident by his absence at a meeting of the BJP's top leadership on Monday, where the party had reiterated its support to Gadkari.
